elements of art

Art is linked to aesthetics because it is considered a faculty or act whereby, by working a matter, image or sound, man creates beauty by striving to give expression to the material or immaterial world that inspires him. In the history of philosophy an attempt has been made to define art as intuition, expression, projection, sublimation, evasion, etc. Aristotle has defined art as an imitation of reality, but Bergson or Proust see it as the exacerbation of the atypical condition inherent in reality. Kant considers art to be a manifestation that produces “disinterested satisfaction.”

According to Romanticism, Vitalism, Phenomenology, Marxism, other and new interpretations of “art” also emerge. The difficulty of defining art lies in its direct relation and dependence with the historical and cultural conjuncture that make it appear. This is because when a style is created and stabilized, it breaks with established systems and codes.

Art is a Latin term, meaning technique / skill. The definition of art varies according to the time and culture, being rock art, handicraft, art of science, religion and technology. Today, art is used as the artistic activity or the product of artistic activity. Art is a human creation with aesthetic values, such as beauty, balance, harmony, which represent a set of procedures used to perform works.

For primitive peoples, art, religion, and science went together in the picture, and originally art could be understood as the product or process in which knowledge is used to realize certain skills. For the Greeks, there was the art of make sculptures, paintings, shoes or ships.

Art is a reflection of the human being and often represents his social condition and essence of being thinking.
